39th Foot Collar Badge

A scarce, brass, collar badge for The 39th Foot (later 1st battalion of The Dorsetshire Regiment) with two lug fastenings (east and west). Churchill 1069.

Note: Colin Churchill, in his book on the History of The British Army Infantry Collar Badge, dates the introduction of this pattern to circa 1878.
