Early Worcestershire Regt Collar Badge

A brass collar badeg for The Worcestershire Regiment with two lug fastenings (east and west). The centre is polished. Churchill 802 or Bennett 408.

Note: Colin Churchill, in his book on the History of The British Army Infantry Collar Badge, dates this pattern to circa 1881-84 only.

Roger Bennett, in his book on Badges of The Worcestershire Regiment, dates this badge to circa 1883... but notes Major Pereira, previously curator of the regimental museum, dates the introduction of this badge to 1886.
