Garrison Staff HP?

A scarce, brass, helmet plate, possibly worn by 'Garrison Staff', with two lug fastenings (east and west). One of two central 'blades' is missing.

Note: Head-dress Badges of The British Army Volume 1, by Arthur Kipling & Hugh King, describes this helmet plate as worn by The Military Police. KK1027

However, an article in The Bulletin of The Military Historical Society by Toby Brayley, collections officer at The RMP Museum, argues it was not worn by The Military Police at all (Issue 290, Vol. 73, November 2022, pages 96 - 99).
