55th Foot Officer's Shako Plate

A rare, silver and gilt, Albert pattern shako plate for an officer of The 55th Foot (Westmorland, later 2nd battalion of The Border Regiment) with two lug fastenings (east and west). KK98A.

Note: Unfortunately, there is damage/a repair to the bottom point of the star. One of the two pairs of wires behind the crown is also detached (still present, however, with the potential for a repair).
