3rd Foot Officer's Forage Cap Badge

A rare, bullion, forage cap badge for an officer of The 3rd Foot (later 1st battalion of The Buffs, The Royal East Kent Regiment). Worn circa 1857-81.

Note: There is some unidentified purple residue to the rear.
