Anodised RIR Kilt Badge
An anodised aluminium kilt badge for The Royal Irish Rangers with two lug fastenings (east and west). As KK2018.
Note: The badge retains its original manufacturer's sample label for LB&B Co (The London Badge & Button Company), dated to 1984. The lead 'seal' also remains intact.
Although the description on the label is "Badge Org Royal Ulster Rifles", this unit had become part of The Royal Irish Rangers by the 1980s, which in turn became part of The Royal Irish Regiment in 1992.
This type of badge was worn on the head-dress with a slider fastening. Essentially the same badge was also worn by pipers as a kilt pin, although typically with lugs north and south.
