2nd VB RWF Officer's WBC

A rare, silver-plated, waist-belt clasp for an officer of the 2nd volunteer battalion of The Royal Welsh Fusiliers There are no benchmarks but the clasp is stamped for manufacturer Hobson & Sons, Lexington St, London W. Headquarters at Hawarden.

Note: This waist-belt clasp is illustrated on page 206 of Bryn Owen's book on The History of the Welsh Militia and Volunteer Corps (Anglesey and Caernarfonshire). He dates it to circa 1887.
