EVRC Shako Plate

A scarce, white metal, shako/helmet plate for The Eton College Volunteer Rifle Corps with four fold-over fastenings.

Note: It looks as though there were originally four pairs of two fold-over fastenings but one of each has been removed (presumably on purpose).

This unit was raised as the 8th Buckinghamshire Rifle Volunteer Corps in 1860, reformed as the 2nd Bucks (Eton Collge) Rifle Volunteers and redesigned as the 4th (Eton College) volunteer battalion of The Oxfordshire Light Infantry in 1887.
