25th Foot NCO's (?) Glengarry Badge

A rare, white metal, glengarry badge for The King's Own Borderers (later 1st battalion of The King's Own Scottish Borderers) with two brass lug fastenings (east and west). As KK462.

Note: This is the version where the lion wears a crown.

I have not had a 'fretted' version before - presumably, this is a higher specification version for a non-commissioned officer?
