42nd Foot Collar Badge

A rare, brass, collar badge for The 42nd Foot (later 1st battalion of The Black Watch, The Royal Highland Regiment) with two lug fastenings (north and south). Churchill 1157.

Note: Colin Churchill, in his book on the History of The British Army Infantry Collar Badge, dates this badge to circa 1874-82 only.
