A slightly faded, blackened brass/bronzed, 'cheesecutter'-style badge for an officer of The Cameronians (The Scottish Rifles) with two lug fastenings (east and west). The reverse bears a (curiously-shaped) plaque for retailer Wm Anderson & Sons, Military Outfitters, Edinburgh.

Note: Westlake states the other rank's version has leaves while the officer's version does not. I do not know the significance of the backing, which have a second pair of holes in them (perhaps previously worn behind different titles?).  read more
